Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Location: Dubuque, Iowa

Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract

Shifts: 12-hour AM shifts, with potential for weekend rotation every other or every third weekend.

Job Summary:

The Telemetry RN will provide direct patient care for individuals requiring continuous monitoring of vital signs, especially heart rhythms, and collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care. This role is ideal for professionals with strong experience in telemetry nursing, including cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and patient education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patients' heart rhythms, vital signs, and other clinical parameters continuously.
• Provide care for patients with cardiac conditions, including post-surgical patients, acute conditions, and those requiring specialized monitoring.
• Administer medications as prescribed, including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and IV medications.
• Educate patients and families on managing cardiac conditions, medication regimens, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, providing timely interventions as needed.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
• Ensure adherence to safety and infection control protocols.
• Be an active participant in patient care planning, contributing insights from telemetry data and observations.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during hospital stays, advocating for patients’ needs.

Qualifications:

• Certifications: Current RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.
• Experience: Previous experience in a telemetry, cardiac, or medical-surgical setting preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in interpreting telemetry data, administering cardiac medications, and responding to patient emergencies.
• Additional Requirements: Strong communication and critical thinking skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and comfort with using telemetry equipment.
